AFTER CARE
How to keep your jewelry at its best
All jewelry needs a bit of care to maintain its shine and appearance. Over time, exposure to air, moisture, and other environmental factors can cause some pieces to oxidize or change color. This is a natural reaction of certain metals and should not be mistaken for a defect. While we do not manufacture the jewelry ourselves, we carefully inspect and select each piece to ensure it meets our quality standards.
Causes of Tarnishing
Sulphur and oxygen is the primary cause of jewelry tarnish. Some areas have naturally elevated levels such as areas with high levels of heat & humidity, traffic (exhaust gas) or heavy industry (air pollution).
Golden Rules to follow
To keep your jewelry looking it's best follow these golden rules:
1. Remove your jewelry when showering (chemicals in your shampoo/conditioner), exercising (your body's salt compounds) and swimming (chlorine is the worst for your jewelry!).
2. Allow perfumes and lotions to dry before wearing.
How to Store your jewelry
1) Remove any price tags/labels or tissue paper these can be surprisingly problematic. Some paper emits sulphur, and can also be acidic.
2) Store inside a sealed polyethylene (LDPE) plastic bag. Squeeze out air from inside the bag as possible before it is sealed.
